The ammeter in Fig. P77 reads 2.0 A; what will the voltmeter read?
along 4.0 Ω - A - 4.0 Ω the potential difference V = 2.0*(4.0 + 4.0) = 16 V, the left point is higher.

along 6.0 Ω - 24 V - 2.0Ω, the current is (24 - 16)/(6.0 + 2.0) = 1 A with direction to left.

so along 4.0 Ω - battery - 12 Ω, the current is 2.0 - 1.0 = 1.0 A

the reading of voltmeter = 16 V + 1.0*(4.0 + 12.0) = 32 V
