How do i con fig my computer?

i need to clean up my computer etc,when it boot up their is a lot of stuff that i have removed but it still seems to load up.

How do i con fig my computer?
if its xp do this start--%26gt;run--%26gt;type in msconfig press enter or ok

this will take u into a config box.

then goto startup top right hand corner, and remove the ticks from the programs u dont want to startup, this should speed up the machine, also do a spyware scan will help.
