What's up with Jesus condemning fig trees to die?

Bad tree, bad!

What's up with Jesus condemning fig trees to die?
Have you ever tasted figs??? All those little seeds get in your teeth, way too much sugar, ewwww. No wonder he did.
Reply:For a comprehensive, if incomprehensible, answer, check out http://www.godhatesfigs.com/index2.html
Reply:Has anyone told Nabisco? Goodbye Fig Newtons! Will there be a big "end of" sale?
Reply:Because it was not an acorn bearing tree. He would not tolerate such deviance. See there! Jesus was looking out for you!! That's what happens to "trees" that bears no fruit. It must have been a free thinking tree.
Reply:Who knows? That book is too absurd for words.
Reply:because they didn't bear good fruit, instead bad fruit, and He was showing His disciples a parable. God will kill any person who doesn't bear good fruit in His name, by spreading the gospel and living by it, and they will die a spiritual death-going to hell.
Reply:No kidding! What's with an all-powerful 'god' being upset with fig trees for not having figs? Jesus himself admitted that it wasn't the season for figs!
Reply:It was that one fig tree along the road because it had no figs. It was also a lesson for those that were with him. His word alone had the power to do that.
Reply:that's one I've never heard. What book.chap.verse ?
Reply:The Fig Tree was an allegory

The tree was in a good location with good soil and good sun. It had everything it needed to be a very fruitful tree, but was not. Israel had been given God's special love and blessing, yet they did not recognize the Messiah.
Reply:Christ was illustrating and prophesying that Israel would no longer produce fruit, spiritual fruit.
Reply:The tree insulted his mama!
Reply:They were sinful.

Lmao @ Phoenix's answer!
