I bought a Fiddleleaf Fig plant and want to use it as an indoor plant IT is huge says it will grow to?

15~20 ft Hx10~15 ft W

How big of a planter should I plant it in to give it room, and not have to replant it? Right now it is about five and a half feet tall.

Also what products should I use to keep it healthy?

Please and thank you much.

Ficus lyrata --

measure the diamater of the pot your tree is in now--let's say it's 12-14 inches..Get a 20-24 inch pot, and use a good potting soil.

To keep your Fig healthy--

# 1 Don't allow plant to dry out.

-- place in full in sun to partial shade

-- provide intermediate to warm temperatures

-- keep moist at all times--weekly watering

-- fertilize weekly during the spring/summer

Indoors, your tree will probably max out at 12'- you can prune off the top growth to keep it bushy.

watch for scale and spider mite insects...you can use an insecticidal soap like Safer's -non-toxic- to control infestations.

I also like Miracle Gro fertilizers.
Reply:Sure you can, that way frost will not kill it either. You must use a large planter if you plan on keeping it indoors. I would say 24x24 in Diameter.

I just through out my box at springtime of the stix's I use for feeding. I will try to look it up and get back to you.

They work wonders.

Good luck with your figs, I have both white and brown. They are yummy and make good ....well ya know. ; )
