she is a 2 year old min. Pincher and she ate it a bout 10 hours ago what should i do
My DOg ate a fig pit what should i do?
I don't think you need worry - especially not after 10 hrs. If you are concerned do ring your veterinarian just to be safe.
Below is a link to toxic plants/trees for cats and dogs.
Hope she's feeling much better.
Reply:I've eaten a lot of figs in my day and I don't remember them having any pits, just tiny, gritty little seeds. Do you mean a prune pit? That could be cause for concern, especially for a small dog like a min pin. I know of a little dachshund that ate a peach pit and it killed her. It created a blockage or something. You should watch for any vomiting and monitor all potty trips to look for any straining or blood, or not passing anything. You should also call your vet about it when they open in the morning or sooner if your dog is showing any discomfort, vomiting or abnormal potty habits.
If it was a fig, I don't think there is anything to worry about.
Reply:Try to avoid your dog in that kind of food!

Reply:nothing- he'll poop it out. Reason I know is I had a fig tree in the back yard. My dogs ate them all the time- and would get the runs. Needless to say, the tree has been chopped down, because I was sick of picking up doo off the carpet! Of course, my dogs are alot larger than a min pin, so maybe you should be watchful to make sure he passes it. If he seems to have difficulties, or starts to behave sickly, take him in.
