Should my fig tree have lost all its leaves?

the leaves went brownish and fell off but i wondered if it was a winter thing

Should my fig tree have lost all its leaves?
Fig trees are deciduous and will loose their leaves during winter. They are hardy but do better if the are placed in the shelter of a wall. The fruit usually take 2 years to ripen. They don't generally need any pruning only to remove frost damaged wood come the spring. A mulch in the Autumn and a feed of something like rose fertiliser in the spring is all the plant will need as well as plenty of water in the Summer.

Hope this helps you and best of luck.
Reply:some leaves do go brown but not all of them should have fallen off. this time of year you should have bulbs coming through at the top. (depending on age of plant)
Reply:it should have, it depends on the trees around it.

if there are lots of trees they should fall of earlier.
Reply:My 10 year old tree loses it's leaves every Autumn, they all come back the following year with plenty of figs.
Reply:mine did too!-we had a late freeze and it never recovered fully
