How old does a fig tree have to be to produce the large figs it is supposed to?

I bought the tree 3 years ago, and it is just producing very small figs. It is supposed to produce xtra large figs.

It takes years for a fig tree to mature. If you have a large crop, but the figs are very close together, they will be small.

I have a 5 year old fig that only puts out about 50 figs a year, and they are medium sized. I started this fig from a cutting from a tree that was very large and had huge figs. I'm guessing it will be a few more years until my fig has both a large crop and large figs.

Patience.
