same way as a sausage or jam roll,,,,,,bake the cake mix first roll it out into a narrow strip spread half of it length ways with the fig mixture,,IE chopped figs,,then roll the cake over the filling and press seal,,,then cut the fig roll to size!!! this is what you would do if making them ,,but obviously a machine does it in the factory ,,, would be same method but on a larger scale,,,

How do they put the fig in the fig roll??????
There was an Advertisement about this some Years ago, about Jacobs Fig Rolls. Featuring Lawrence of Arabia and his Arab Friend and they were eating Fig Rolls and Speaking in Arabic and His friend asked Him this Question I can only say it Phonetically.

Lawrence Abibi Ke Be a ba Jacob a Tinka de Fig Rolls. Lawrence Replies to his friend I dont know Abibi but they are Gorgeous.
Reply:Do you mean fig newton type of cookies? I've made them from scratch.

I make a batch of dough and divide it in half. I press one half of the dough on the baking sheet. Spread the fig filling on it and then lay the rolled out top layer over the filling. After it bakes, I cut them in pieces.

I know the fig newtons are open only on 2 sides though and am not sure how they make them but obviously they use a commercial machine.
Reply:Very carefully
Reply:I don't really care, I just eat em cos I love em. Yummy.
Reply:They put the roll round the fig
