A hot iron horseshoe (mass = 0.45 kg), just forged (Fig. 14-16), is dropped into 1.65 L of water in a 0.29 kg?

This assumes none of the water was boiled off during the dropping process.



Qhs = .45 Ciron *(Tis - Tf)

Q hwo = .29 Ch2o (Tws - Tf)

Qhs + Qhwo = 0: solve for Tf, you have to provide C for iron and water (heat capacitance)
