Why are we told to learn the parable of the fig tree?

It's getting late in the game because this generation, the one we're in now, has some gray hair. Christ returns at the end of this generation. Then, begins the Millennium / The Lord's Day.

To learn more about the final generation, let's go to the Word and read The Parable of the Fig Tree. Jesus, in Matthew 24:32-44, said:

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

Jesus did not say if you get around to it, learn it. He said Learn it.

The fig tree symbolizes Israel. And, When his branch is yet tender, means that Israel became a country again. This happened in May, 1948.

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

The end of this earth age, dispensation of time, is near, knocking at the door. The earth is NOT going to be destroyed. A new age, The Lord's day will begin.

34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

All prophecies concerning this earth age will be fulfilled, come to pass, during this generation, which started in 1948.

35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Heaven and earth shall pass away means there will be a new heaven age and a new earth age, or a new dispensation of time. And, God's Word never changes. It's the same today, as it was yesterday, and as it will be forever.

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Because no man knows the exact time when this earth age ends, we must be watchmen.

Watchmen for what?

The fulfillment of prophecies.

If you're a serious student of the Word, you know that these end time prophecies are passing rapidly - like a woman travails (in labor). At the end of labor, a birth takes place. In this case, a new age starts.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

It's important that you know who are the they in the above verse. They = Ne-phil-im, which means fallen ones (from naphal, to fall - 5307 in your Strong's Concordance). In other words, the fallen angels, the ones who left their place of habitation (heaven) and came to earth.

At the 6th trump, which you can read about in the Book of Revelation, the order is issued to boot antichrist from heaven to earth. Those fallen angels will also come here with their leader, antichrist, who is none other than satin.

And, just like in the days before the flood, they will be seducing women. Only those, however, who do not have God's seal in their forehead, which means in their mind.

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Those who get the Mark of the Beast - those who've been deceived by antichrist - will only realize that they've been worshiping the wrong christ when the Son of man, the real Christ, returns: the Second Advent.

The following verse explains the shame of those who get the Mark of the Beast after they realize that they've been deceived by antichrist:

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb. Revelation 6:16

40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

The one taken will be taken by antichrist. The other left will have God's seal in his forehead; therefore, he cannot be deceived by antichrist.

As Daniel 11:24 tells us, antichrist comes in peaceably and prosperously. He'll look and act like many Christians think Christ will look and act. If antichrist, for example, started loping off folks' heads, how many Christians would he deceive?

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Again, antichrist takes the first one. The one left is sealed by God, which mean she finds antichrist an abomination, not a temptation.

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Those who fail to study God's Word, in depth, will not know for what to watch. Your Father's sent you a Letter, telling you everything you need to know.

As I said above, it's getting late in the game because we're in the 5th seal now. Thus, you'll see the following prophecy, Revelation 13:1-4, fulfilled before long:

1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

The beast is a one-world system - the sea symbolizes people - the horns symbolizes power. In other words, flesh man creates this one-world, evil system. It, in my opinion, will come from the United Nations. Ask yourself where most countries go for help when they have problems?

2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

The dragon, which is one of satin's names, just as antichrist is one of them, gives the beast its power.

3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

The beast, the one-world system, gets a deadly wound, which is healed by antichrist.

4 And they worshiped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

They worship the dragon because they've been deceived - they got the Mark of the Beast, which means in their mind. They believe antichrist is Christ. That's why when Christ comes back, 7th trump, they'll pray for the mountains to fall on them. Sad.

Why are we told to learn the parable of the fig tree?
to learn that every good tree bears good fruit, so good people do good works. and every bad tree will shrivel up and die. and that is what will happen to bad people doing bad things.
Reply:it's not really a parable, is it? it's a story. it's in the bible to demonstrate to us both the power of our words and the power of our faith. once you understand that, you'll understand why noah was able to curse his son and make it last. and a lot of other things. you'll learn how to speak things into existence. sounds ridiculous until you learn how to do it, but it has always worked well for me. study it. it's good stuff.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. -Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)

edit- oops... i thought you were talking about when Jesus cursed the fig tree. oh well. you should still study up on the stuff i wrote about. it's crucial.
Reply:God hates figs.
Reply:If you call yourself a Christian, you'd better act like it.
