What is the idiom in "But we don't care a button! We don't care a fig"?

In Edward Lear's poem "The Jumblies" line 9 "But we don't care a button! We don't care a fig" what do you think he meant when he wrote this?

What is the idiom in "But we don't care a button! We don't care a fig"?
I think it means they dont care a little (button) or alot (fig). In otherwords - they care not at all
