When is a good time to pick figs from a fig tree?

They are starting to fall from a big fig tree in my garden, but the ones I have cut into are still unripe. I'm in the UK if that helps, climate-wise.

omg my dad has a fig tree they usually start blooming around fall there ready to pick when there a brown color but not to brown
Reply:pick them when they get a little softer.... the color will change as well when they are ready...
Reply:When they're golden brown. If they're falling, something is wrong with your tree!
