What does the "Fig Tree" represent in the BIBLE?

they talk abou the fig tree bearin its leaves in rev.??

What does the "Fig Tree" represent in the BIBLE?
The nation of Israel.
Reply:Israel
Reply:99.9% of the time a Fig Tree is just a fig tree and doesn't represent anything.

Why does the Fig Tree have to represent anything. What does an Avacado represent? or a Watermelon?

You have to remember the passage where Jesus wanted to eats some figs but the fig tree he found was barren, so He cursed it!!! If it means Israel or True Christians, then what does that mean?
Reply:it means you are a true christian!!
Reply:Hey, I don't know, I don't care.
Reply:I don't think it is Israel, I think it is God's people. In Romans 11 Israel was a branch that was cut off of the tree, and the church was a branch that was grafted in, so I'm inclined to think the tree is God's people through all ages, with Christ as the root.
Reply:From what everyone else is saying, I'm going with Isreal.
Reply:Israel.

The baren fig tree was cursed. It bore no fruit in Yahshua's day. It bares no fruit since it put forth its leaves in Jeruslalem in 1948 / 1967. It never will. It is cursed. Still.

This is the last generation before the return of the Messiah as is specified in Matt. 24. This tree is useless except for this sign of the end of the age. We are there! The age of Esau is soon over. The age of Jacob is about to begin.

Israyl is the OLIVE TREE.
Reply:the presence of a fruitful fig tree was considered to be a symbol of blessing and prosperity for the nation of israel. likewise, the absence or death of a fig tree would symbolize judgment and rejection. symbolically, the fig tree represented the spiritual deadness of israel, who while very religious outwardly with all the sacrifices and ceremonies, were spiritually barren because of their sins.
Reply:I'm not a fig plucker or a fig plucker's son, but I'll pluck figs 'till the fig plucker comes.

Try saying that one fast. Heeheehee...
Reply:No idea.
