Your plant is probably to wet. Some plants have to dry between waterings.
Let it rest. Perhaps it is root bound as well. Repot it, water just enough to set the dirt and let it rest.
In a few days you should see a difference. While you have it out of the pot check the roots for bugs or fungus and rot. Should you see these, wash gently to remove the bugs or carefully clip the rot and or fungus affected roots and feed when repotted.
Good luck
How do you care for a braided fig? The dirt seems nice %26amp; moist- but the leaves fall off constantly?
Unfortunately that is somewhat the nature of the plant.. if it is a Ficus tree you are referring to. Make sure that you are not overwatering it, (the soil should remain moist, not wet) and that it is getting good filtered light. Other than that, there is not much else you can do about it. :0(
Reply:Let the dirt dry out a bit %26amp; keep the plant in a morning light area. Place it in the planter outdoors in the shade if you can. They like a med./cool light. And water as needed...don't over-soak them.
They will shed off old leaves, but will regenerate as they adjust to the temp./climate.
