The outside under the bark has to be green.
Cut the bottom and put it into a solution of root stimulator and then into good soil. Keep it watered and it should easily grow.
If possible, how can I start a fig tree from a branch? I have no leaves on it but the center is white.?
you have a couple options.........first you can try clipping off the bottom exposing the "insides", place in a container filled with "rooting compond", you can buy that at any garden center....other and i think more fun option, would be "grafting"...its not as complicated as is sounds.....First cut your fig branch off at an angle, next find a healthy tree in your yard, find a healthy branch DO NOT REMOVE IT!! simply cut a "slit" in the branch of the healthy tree, now slide your fig branch into the slit of the healthy tree, wrap with old nylons, or other stretching material, tap in place, and with luck you should get a "fig combo" tree!, u can use grafting to create "apple/plum trees" almost any combo!! you may want to soak some spagnam moss in rooting compound, place that over the "graft" and secure, this can help speed up the process,,,use a sharp steril knife too! good luck and watch the fingers!!!
Reply:just cut the end at a slant and put it in a glass of water until it takes root, then plant it once there are roots on it. good luck
